Here in the Sangam, Maa Ganga’s water mix intimately with river Yamuna. Where is invisible Sarasvati ?
Sangam also means sexual union, when man and woman merge themselves into each other. Energy developped is neither the man’s nor the woman’s : it’s the confluence of both, intimately mixed, as Ganga, associated with moon and female energy, coming from left side of river Yamuna (sun) melt « her » flow in « his ».
In India, wife always seet at the left of her beloved.
