I suppose I've knitted him others, but this one was knitted for him, fits him (for now), and won't be packed off for anyone else. It makes me sad to think of all the sweaters I have not knitted for this one when Beatrix had so many. Did she have that many or was it the case that she was tiny and wore the same sweaters for 2-3 years? Whatever the reason, this little dude needs some more mama sweaters, especially since he points out sweaters in books and says, "Wook at all dat pwetty knitting!! So many yahns!!" Who could resist? Certainly, not I.

Evidence that not all designs should become patterns. No one I know likes this hat but me, which means I may have stepped over the knitterly just-because-you-can-doesn't-mean-you-should line of colorwork.

The weaving in of ends may signal the last of the striped knitting for a while.
