It feels so unbalanced, in that I could fall in to the water at any time, yet the way the roof of the awning disappears into the line of the horizon is divine.

As always the tones are spot on.

Perfect, excellent composition, shot great in Black and white. The square crop adds an excellent effect, especially with the balance of the leading line of the top of the roof of the star ferry terminal building. The top of the IFC tower being shrouded in mist/pollution, the effect of the light of the skyscrapers from Hk side and the misty effect of the harbour's water in this also add to such a great effect. Definitely a favourite.

Thank you, each one of you, for your enthusiasm on this late night effort, your comments and critiques are very much appreciated.

tomo: no I was in HK for only a couple of days. It was hazy all the while, but I kind of like the effect of haziness from a photog point of view.

kent, tino, marg, pavel: thank you all for the kind invites.

ivan.barrientos: yes it is on medium format film.

wolf_brigade: I can assure you, Tam, that there was no such physical danger of falling over the fence, but you are right about the visual "danger". Perhaps I should leave a bit of the fence in the lower left as a foundation.

Rupert1987: thanks for taking the time in looking into the image and leaving your thoughtful comment, I really appreciate it.

Maggie: ha ha you are making me flush again...

This is amazing!! The tones, the fog the city lights and the exposure of the light foreground, all as perfect as can be with a lovely composition and using the square frame to it's fullest... WOW!! Instant fave =)

I wouldn't leave that bit of fence in. That feeling of "falling in" to the picture really makes feel like I'm there. It's often difficult to achieve that without an extreme wide angle lens. To get it on a 50mm (the distagon is 50 right?), well, it takes a good eye!

Edd: thanks for your detailed comment and really taking a good look at it.

wolf_brigade: ok I see what you meant. I used a 60mm, my current favorite because of its more natural perspective than the 50mm.

original_ann: glad you like it!

Wonderful tonality! I absolutely love the feel and the tone of this photo submission. The overall light spread is also very creatively composed. I'm also impressed with the sharpness running throughout as well. Very nice work all around!
