Jumping in to the World of Grown Ups

I took this photo during this year's trip to Andøya. My uncle's girlfriend asked me to take the confirmation photos of her son, since they still hadn't taken any. So I dragged him with me to Børra, on the west side of Andøya, where we used the wonderful light of the evening sun.

This photo is not photoshopped in any way, apart from the usual tweaking. I was on the ground, and he jumped from a rock and towards me. I think it created a pretty cool effect.

Jeg var sikker på at det var temmelig fikset på, klipp og lim bla, så beklager min tvilsomme tilnærming til bildet ditt. Hvodan fikk du ansiktet og midtre del av kroppen så klart når "kantene er uskarpe, blir det bare sånn? Kul effekt, regner med at gutten syns det ble tøft. Har du vurdert tettere beskjæring, feks kvadrat?

God ide til et konfirmasjonsbilde... Jeg ha noen ubearbeidete filer, som ikke kom ut så bra, noe som skyldes både konfirmant og fotograf.... må vel begynne på jobben og se om de kan "reddes". ( Bildekritikk! gruppen)

I think it's a great shot and I like all the blurring, but I just wish there wasn't blurring on his face... that would make it perfect

@nattowl: Jeg skulle ønske jeg kunne sagt at jeg planla alt ned til minste detalj. Men alt kommer ned til flaks og en god porsjon tålmodighet. That is an awesome capture. It looks like he's vibrating as he flies through the air. Kind of reminds me of the book Jumper (guessing that's what the movie is based on)

The movement is a lot of fun, and I like the use of the top of the lighthouse for the a perspective point. As for what I think of it, I would not tell you if you did not ask. Personally, I think that written critiques sound much harsher that they are without any tonal inflection. At the same time positive critiques may sound too much like gushing, when they would actually be restrained praise when in verbal.

The title works well with the evident motion, and I like the way the lighting is equalised here. For me, I would try an extreme of one or the other: a panning of some sort or a full motion drag with a static background. The in between stuff is really very hard.
