Recycled Beer Glasses

Recycled Beer Glasses by mmmm, brains.
Hand-cut. Set of 4 glasses. Now in my shop (see my profile for the link). I'm happy to custom-cut bottles for you. I'll also have wine bottle vases soon.

Cool! They're on the CRAFT website!

I've thought about doing this, but I probably wouldn't make enough to justify a glass cutter. But these are awesome. I might have to commission you to make some for me! :)

I can remember back in the 70s an informercial for a glass bottle cutter to make your own glasses. So this idea goes way back. To bad such a commercial product can not be bought today.

Ohhhh...am I going to have to get a set of these when I move to Oregon...I'll have to find some spiffy beer I love out there and we'll set this up. It would be great to have in my new place, and a little link to New England and flickr coming from you!!! I will be in touch this fall about a collaboration. : )

Thanks! And thank you for the amazing testimonial - it gave me chills. ;) I'm working on securing printed labels onto the bottles - right now they all come off when you wash the glasses... I'll post something when I see if it works.

Have you considered a logo of somesort? It could be etched easily (I love that etching cream, I've used it several times on projects) or even painted on with some glass paints or markers? I know I've seen them in the craft store before.

A logo is a great idea! I know people have favorite beers, but most of the bottles (once the label is gone) look exactly the same. How to preserve the label? I was thinking Modge Podge or something - but I doubt that is dishwasher safe.

And then there's always other brands that are actually ON the bottle, instead of a label...Rolling Rock comes to mine, Heinekin, those are green though of course. I'm sure there's a ton I'm just not thinking of right now.

I saw these being made at recycling center in San Pancho, Nayarit, Mx where my brother n law helped out, along the women of the village. The recycling center in San Francisco/San Pancho was started by my niece godfather.
