Bridge Ahead

    North Yachats River Covered Bridge. East of Yachats Oregon. A generic view I know but it is a nice bridge.

      I've only ever seen covered bridges like this in films from the 'states. I'm guessing, the structure restricts large vehicles from crossing and go some way to help shelter the bridge for a longer life?

      Beautiful! This is so like the bridges that were on my grandmother's farm it its basic construction, and also the wooden road bed is exactly like the ones in those bridges. This really takes me back.

      I love Oregon's covered bridges - I really like the way you captured this one

      - seen in Oregon

      RattyBoots;

      Yes...it was much more practical for them to reroof a covered bridge once in a great while as apposed to letting a bridge rot slowly at at some point tear it all down and rebuild it. Having a covered bridge allowed the bridge to continue being used even when being repaired.

      Great shot! Love covered bridges, but have never gotten to look for them in this neck of the woods. Great perspective and composition.

      Seen in the Barns, Sheds and other Rustic Rural Buildings pool.

      Dave, Looks like you had some good weather, it was pouring the day we went, I think the coast got about 3 inches of rain that day and I didnt bring extra clothes.
