Shelter Lizard - Rescued
Yesterday I went to the shelter to pick up three cats, and I noticed this lizard in the back room. I asked the people in charge "what's the story with the lizard?", and they told me that it's not doing so well... it didn't eat for two weeks already.
I went to see the lizard up close, and noticed that for two weeks, they have been trying to feed the lizard DRY CAT FOOD!!!
I told them I am taking the lizard with me for a short recovery, and then I am letting it go free again.
I got the lizard home, gave it crickets, and what a shocker............... the lizard started eating again :-)
I'll give it two more days to relax, eat, and then I'll let it go. (assuming it's native)
Anyone has any idea what kind of lizard is this?? (After looking it up a little, my guess is that it's a California Alligator Lizard).
