In June 1956 the two men recorded their first hit, "A Rose and A Baby Ruth". A US top 10 smash hit.

Through the years songwriter John Loudermilk and singer George Hamilton continued to work together. Making worldwide hits like Break My Mind, Blue Train and Abilene.

In 2006 they commemorated their first recording with a concert in Chapel Hill, NC, where it all started 50 years before.
