There is a "micro dock" of a short line of bricks placed in the mud - not much, but a huge help to me, I was able to beach right near them, stand up, put one foot on the bricks and then push the boat further up the beach with the other (since it of course started to float again as I stepped out :-) Given all the mud it was surprisingly non-messy.
