Hangar 9 is the oldest standing World War I-era hangar in the United States. Designed to store and maintain the Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny" trainer, the structure is unusual in its use of buttresses to support a low-pitched gambrel roof.

Students instructed in the "Gosport" method at this hangar include: Charles Lindbergh, Claire Chennault, and Curtis LeMay.

It is now listed by the National Park Service as the Edward H. White II memorial.
