Soft Autumn Light

with the beautiful weather yesterday I realized it was probably one of my last chances of the year to do a "fall foliage" shoot. I really wanted a sense of the soft autumn light and colors.

Lighting info: Ambient was giving me around f/6.3 (edge of shade) and provided a nice rim light on the hair. A 580exII in a 28" softbox to the right, about 4' away filled in the shadows. Fired in ETTL with radiopoppers.

In lightroom I started with the "aged photo" preset to soften the colors, then played with the saturation levels to bring out the reds a bit more. Added some fill light to bring back some of the details in the black coat, and then a little vignetting to lead the eye into the shot finished it up.
