SWARM POTENTIAL | EDWIN STOLK | 2013
The organisation conference, swarm potential. 2013 (not realised)

A situation by Edwin Stolk in collaboration with MOTI, Museum of The Image and inhabitants of Breda, corporations and cultural organisations in the Breda area. Expert team; Mieke Gerritzen, Renée Frissen, Loek Grootjans, Sarah Sluimer, Robbert van Heuven.

The organisation was founded in 2011 and is an initiative to stimulate collaboration between individuals. Where corporate control strives for mayor profits for their shareholders, The organisation tries to stimulate active citizenship for direct control over their shared and lived surroundings.

The organisation conference with the theme swarm potential was visually based on the appearance of the Bilderberg conferences, a meeting of top politicians, CEO's of big companies, scientists and other influential people. The outcome of these meetings is always surrounded by secrecy and the selection procedure far from democratic.

MOTI museum would be turned in a first class, three day conference location realized with the support of local corporations. A large nation wide campaign would call for citizen's submission of innovative ideas. A local board (citizens from Breda) would select 147 participants, the amount of Bilderberg 2012, who would receive their personal invitation to attend the secret meeting. Police will carefully and radically protect the location while inside a formal as well as informal program connects the potential of the swarm. Outside protesters appear against the new world order.

After almost a year of hard work this project was unfortunately cancelled by the director of the museum in February 2013 due to a lack of support.
