The oldest material in this composter is the brown you see, and it is about 6 weeks old. The youngest is the still-white onion skins from dinner tonight that you can see near the top of the image. Total composting time when you turn it regularly and feed it properly is about 120 days (=4 months). So, I still have another 10 weeks to go before the oldest stuff is ready.
