A short history about Adidas:

Adidas AG is a German sports apparel is the second largest
sportswear manufacturer worldwide.

The company was named after its founder, Adolf (Adi) Dassler, who started producing shoes in the 1920s in Herzogenaurach near Nuremberg with the help of his brother
Rudolf Dassler who later formed rival shoe company PUMA AG.

AG: The German term Aktiengesellschaft means a corporation that is limited by shares,
i.e., owned by shareholders. It may be traded on the stock market. The term is used in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The US equivalent term is "public company".
