I've worked in and/or around this building for sixteen years. This is the seat of the provincial Legislature of my home Canadian province, British Columbia. It is known by those of us who toil here as "The Rockpile". It is a stone building designed by famous architect Sir Francis Rattenbury.

It was a very stormy day today, broken by periods of amazing light. My daughter and I were in the neighborhood visiting the Royal British Columbia Museum, which is where I captured this three exposure HDR from the third floor.

I stayed in the hotel (best western maybe) just on the other side of this photo. Anyway, my girlfriend and I were out in front of the building at about 12:50am, and we were lining up a photo of it with all the lights on it lit up. We set up the tripod, lined it up, set the aperture, and got ready to take the shot which we thought would be awesome with the lights completely outlining the building, and with about 10 seconds to go before I pressed the shutter release, they lights turned off. hahahahah, i couldn't believe our luck. anyway, just thought i would share. Great Photo, as always!
