Metropolis

Where do you live, Vancouverites? Leave a note on the photo.
Title is meant to evoke the old Fritz Lange film. I was thinking about how the grain and distortion in this reminded me of old B&W film. Metropolis is one of my all time favs.
Aerial of Vancouver shot from a helicopter. Single RAW file massively processed. PseudoHDR then lots of other stuff done. Can't remember. Been working on it on and off for two days, and it probably shows over-processing in spades. Kinda reminds me of film. Oh well. I like it.
That's our wonderful Stanley Park in the foreground.

I LOVE this! Vancouver is so beautiful to begin with, and now you have evoked a fantasy version of it. I can see the similarity to Metropolis definitely. Magnificent!

I love the effect! The dramatic sky, the detail of the city looking so small below, and then the inviting forest in the foreground - your aerial shots are so different and unlike anything else I see. You're lucky to be able to get such a great viewpoint!

Love the perspective of this shot. Really makes you appreciate the great environment we have all around Vancouver. Stanley Park looks huge from here. Awesome work!

to my uneducated eye it doesn't look over-processed, and the clouds don't have that exaggerated HDR look to them. very nice.

Amazing shot! All the processing was worth it . . . I just want to know how you got all these aerial views . . . I might need to invest in some helicopter trips. Found you through your geotagging - I'm coming up to Vancouver from Seattle in a few weeks and want to find some good places to shoot. Beautiful stream.
