We just passed midnight in PST, which is the beginning of flickr's day as well. Happy New Year to all my great flickr friends around the world. I hope it is a peaceful, fulfilling year for you all.
This is a macro of our Christmas tree reflected in the surface of champagne from a bottle we popped tonight. We've been collecting old-fashioned champagne coupes. The larger surface made it easy to capture the reflection, and you can see some bubbles if you look closely. The tree lights are also refracted through the lip of the glass.
Upsampled, tonemapped using Photomatix. Shot with our family point-and-shoot, which is a Canon SD1000 Digital Elph.
