What a radio looks like, 2

What a radio looks like, 2 by genmon.
I've written about making things before, and my experience of Olinda is similar to that of Availabot. Having a first test rig is like having a highly situated bolt of lightning continually hitting precisely the right spot. From there in, the work is about lifting this precarious, continuous happening away from its situation, and protecting it against changing surroundings. We peel it off the desk; we wrap it in PCBs and plastic; we encase it in watchdog timers and capacitors. Eventually we hold it entirely free of the world and we have created an *object*... but for the moment it's just part of the landscape of the studio in 2007, not an object at all. Soon though.
