    Mini-hydroplanes speed along Capitol Lake as part of Lakefair.

    Conducted by the Seattle Outboard Association, which dates back to the late 1920s and is the oldest and largest racing club under the American Power Boat Association, the Capital Lakefair Regatta is a three-day event at Capitol Lake, Olympia Washington, with a program that features 15 classes of outboard powerboats racing over a 7/8-mile course.

    The boats range in speed from 40 mph in the J class for young drivers, to more than 100 mph for the modified engines.
