16 Eames Stamps for 2008 by eamesd.

Sometime this summer, Charles and Ray will be honored with the release of 16 stamps celebrating their work. Here's more and another post.

I don't normally post pix that I didn't take, but for this I am making an exception because there are certain protocols with stamps as they are legal tender. We have been working with the post office for over 10 years and it is exciting to finally be able to tell people about these stamps.

Thank you, thank you for all the great response. the stamps will indeed be a highpoint of the Charles Eames Centennial.

So I though I'd invite those of you in LA on January 17, to a party: the double opening of part 2 of the Charles Eames Centennial Exhibition AND the 100 photos show (at Eames Office in Santa Monica).

We have some really cool, rarely seen itms from the collection. You NEED to RSVP to the party (at rsvp@eamesoffice.com). If you can't make it (and even if you can), you can enjoy another centennial celebration:

The EAMES ELEPHANT Movie, A Gathering of Elephants, on youtube.

AND: to answer some of the questions from out of the country, we'll get more details as to how you can get stamps once we know the final details.

This is truly exciting to see all the passion and enthusiasm here.

Well, the official release date is going to be Charles' 101st birthday--June 17. The first day of issue will be held at the Eames Office in Santa Monica. So it will be at other post offices then as well.

Hi All,

I got availability questions on alot of these pictures. YES they are out today. First day of issue at 850 Pico in Santa Monica at 11 AM. You are welcome to come.

But nationwide, anyone can walk into a post office (as I understand it) and buy them or at least order them. International readers may have local stamp brokers with agreements with the US Post Office

A limited number will be available through the Eames Office starting next week! www.eamesoffice.com
