valiant

valiant by e50e.
I didn't expect much with this one. I was leaving a parking garage in St. Paul and it was raining but the "v-a-l-i-a-n-t" caught my eye because I love all of the photos dakgirl1 takes with that camera. So, I pulled the emergency brake and got out to shoot it. It worked out well!

This pic has recently been rejected twice from two group shows ;] haha. Still looks nice in a frame though!

Worked out well? It worked out excellent! The letters are awesome, but I like the rain drops on the trunk.

The b & w is so perfect here -- the raindrops are so clear and the chrome so shiny.

extra super cool. funny how sometimes the worst (!) cameras can yield such stunning photos. if you'd told me this was a Leicablad or a Hasslelander or something, i would have believed you. Except for the vignetting perhaps. ;)

i have a couple of Voigtlander cameras. a Vitoret and a Vitoret 110 EL. bought solely because i could finally afford a Voigtlander. never mind one is a clapped-out zone-focusing 35mm with a sluggish shutter, and the other has an annoying fondness for 110-format film. At least I can shoot with the big dogs! (if they worked that is.) now to pick up that Leica Instamatic i've had my eye on....

Great detail on that 'trunk' (as you Americans call it) with lovely lines on that car. Sometimes the wee Holga amazes me at the detail it grabs through that wee lens.

This photo pushed me to shoot with the Holga in a completely different manner after I got this image back. I thought it could really only be used for crappy landscape shots (because I didn't really understand the camera and I took crappy shots), but then I realized I can get detail and get closer to my subject. I really haven't shot a lot of b&w with it either. I think the detail pops more in b&w. Thanks for the comment.

Impressive, you got the car centered and straight, no mean feat considering it's a Holga. the fact it's b&w is the icing on the cake.
