Tales of the secret dragonfly Kamasutra by e³°°°.
I think this is not a common scene you would see every day :
The big one is a female Anax imperator (great emperor dragonfly), laying eggs in the water. Mostly the Anax imperator couples copulate in trees.

While ovipositioning, she's holding a male blue damselfly, copulating with a female (horizontal) damselfly.
Male odonates have an organ near the back of the thorax in which they store spermatozoa; they mate by holding the female behind the head with claspers located at the tip of the male abdomen; the female bends her abdomen forward to touch the male organ and receive sperm.


Bloemetjes en bijtjesverhaal met twee libellensoorten : het vrouwtje van een grote keizerslibel (echte joekels van libellen) houdt een vrijend koppeltje van een andere soort (waterjuffers) vast terwijl ze eieren onder water legt.
Het mannetje van de waterjuffer (blauw) produceert sperma in het achterlijfspunt, brengt dit vervolgens in een speciaal orgaan in het tweede segment van het achterlijf waar het vrouwtje (groen) het dan opneemt. Daartoe neemt het mannetje het vrouwtje vast bij het halsschild.
Even later vloog het kleine waterjufferkoppeltje weg, al parend in de lucht.
Normaal wreet zo'n grote keizerslibel ook kleine libellen op.

In deez foto is het wel duidelijk hoe ongehoord groot die Libel Imperator is! Waw!

Ze was blijkbaar in een moederlijk - bezige bui... de redding voor die kleine neefjes...
