The clear wings make this South-American butterfly hard to see in flight, a succesfull defense mechanism.

    bedankt Eelco! Ik had er al vruchteloos naar gezocht, ben geen tropische vlinderexpert uiteraard! Mijn exemplaar heb ik de dag na de meetup in Lier gefotografeerd in vlindertuin Berkenhof in Zeeland.
    Ithomia : prachtige Latijnse naam ook, soms kick ik daar op ;-)
