Sukaatoman @ Shibuya ( Tokyo-no-ningen / Gens de Tokyo / Tokyo people chap.7 )

i like her shoes! :D

This photo had a big success on flickr, also among hackers and thieves. This photo has been used sometimes with permission, many times without permission, misused (thanks to some search engines, i found it on porn websites and blogs with ugly comments), probably stolen or usurped more than once. Which letter you don' t understand in the word "COPYRIGHT"?

A very cool and obviously efficient sukaatoman ( guys who are talking to the pretty girls wearing miniskirts in the streets, in order to hire them usaually for pinku or porn videos ) is on the verge to succeed - she will leave with him.
I like their attitudes on this picture.

FrizzText, thanks for the fav and the invite. Your group seems intersting. Think i'll post in it.
tanakawho thanks but i don't understand the way the group is ruled and i can't join it from the link you gave (or maybe there's a bug in those days of hacktivism against flickrcensorship ?).

Thanks Tu Foto Sometimes this is the way it happens.
Yoko pfffffrrrttt...
Fatapilar, don't trust me, OK ? (maybe i'm a sort of sukaatoman)
FrizzText Thank you very much, it's an honour to be featured in your group.

Wild Banana, it's up to you to train for becoming a sukaatoman. You'll need not only the look, but also the skills in spoken japanese. Good luck.
I don't know if i should be very grateful for the fave and the comment but anyway, you should not waste too much time on my Explore set, this is not always very interesting pictures and the critic is a bit too easy for overrated photos like this anyway...
When i look back at pictures like that, saved by stories or descriptions but with lousy technical aspects, like crappy contrasts and not so great framing, i see how fast i improved (partly due to flickr's sometimes interesting people and constructive critics) and how deep is the bad taste that makes a photo "interesting" for flickr robots.

To tell you the truth it was just the explication to an event that I had never even imagined that incited that excitement. The photo displays you story, and for that it does it's does it's job. Besides that, it's not a very good photo, and it doesn't portray the situation with any emotion or style.

Well to be honest. I respect you and your photostream. your photos are interesting, some more than others. And I saw that you've improved greatly from your first pages.
I critique but only because I feel critisism is lacking on flickr, a race for views and comments instead of a forum for photography. I want to improve and I feel people should also comment on what they like less. Helping the photographer to understand more integrally the thoughts about his/her photo.

Anyways have a good evening or day. Can't wait to hear back

Wild Banana
I agree on the fact that criticism is lacking on flickr, and that one should comment not only on what is great but also on what is not, of course. I also agree on the fact that some critics are far more helpful than thousands of enthusiastic and complacent comments and faves. If you read my answer, you would have found this opinion already. Flickr is fortunately not only a race for comments and views and lots of interesting people and great photographers might help to improve, by their critics, witty comments or simply by watching carefuly their works displayed on their photostreams. Some groups are also very helpful.
I'm totally open to critics and i think it's necessary, but maybe not when the things pointed are not only obvious, but pointed and already commented not only by the viewers but also by the author himself - otherwise this is what we call in french (a language you seem to understand apparently) "enfoncer des portes ouvertes".

Regarding what you say about my photo, once again if you read my answer you'd find the elements you just wrote here. So let's explain this more clearly since you think you deserve (and i think you deserve this indeed, because you're apparently talented and young enough to change in the good way) to hear back about this.

This photo is actually a good illustration of what were most of my pictures in the years 2005-2007, when i started using digital cameras (after having used old-school cameras when i was part-time journalist in the early 90's and a long break without images) : not so great pictures (in terms of technical skills displayed and yes, after all, why not also in terms of emotion) or even crappy pictures, sometimes on purpose though, often saved by the interest of the event they described or most likely by the description. In these times, some interesting people used to say they liked to visit my stream mostly for the written contents than for the quality of the pics themselves. This were some of the things that made me improve the quality of the pics, while trying to keep the written contents at a good level in the same time. Well, enough said about that, ne ?

This leads us again to the same observation : critics are necessary for leaving a comfort zone, provided we are able to see what should be improved, to take time to understand and to have the real will to improve, probably some of the aspects of a certain maturity, eventually.
