Mass Chaos.....

I was an Obama delegate for precinct 461 in Austin, TX. Today was an insane day. The line of cars trying to get into the Expo Center was backed up for miles. People just started abandoning their cars on the side of the road and walking to the Expo Center. The ten o'clock sign in cut off was changed to an indefinate cut off time until they could get all the traffic settled. I was stuck in this traffic beginning at 7am this morning and didn't get parked until 9:30.....

Luckily I made it in and got my credentials. Finding my precinct delegation was an entirely different matter. Imagine looking for a sign with your precinct number written on a piece of paper about the size of regular piece of notebook paper.....

It was absolute chaos. We had seven thousand delegates alone in the building. That doesn't include spouses, children, other onlookers and non-delegate folks that were there....

This was the largest County Convention in the State of Texas and on one news report I heard it was the second largest county convention ever in the Nation. I'm not sure how true that is at this point...but it wouldn't doubt it!

It was a pretty crazy morning but soon turned into a monotonous day while we waited and waited to begin voting our delegates to state. After hours of waiting, it took us about five minutes to vote our in our state delegates. I'm very grateful our precinct was as organized as we were.

Despite being a long boring day....

I'd do it again!

Williamson County was pretty wild too. Of course there were only about 1600 people there but it still seemed to go on forever ...
