There used to be a time when flying standby on an earlier flight did not cost an extra $109. An actual person might be embarrassed to charge such a fee... ahh but the automated kiosk has no shame. This nice gate agent was able to get it done for $25. Note to airline exec: If you must charge a fee, give us the discount at the kiosk. It costs you less than an agent and won't piss off as many customers.
