Well, so much can be said about friendship but we all know those are the best moments of our life. This was shot in one of the remote villages of Kerala, where we are all waiting for an overnight performance of Theyyam. It was winter-ish and I found these kids in a corner creating a bit of warmth for each other.

yyam- The preparation starts for a grand make-up. The artist starts with an initial make-up of his face while the gurus and seniors artists start creating the natural colors as well as other bodily ornaments. On a whole depending on the type of Theyyam, a preparation can range anything from 3-6 hours. More to come...

Theyyam is a ritual of worshipping God in Northern part of Kerala, primarily Kannur and Kasargod districts. The performers here are from the lower cast community and takes the form of God during the performances and people from all the classes seek the blessings. There are many types of theyyam and it is definitely one of the most lively performances I have seen in India. More to come...
