Monarch chrysalis, here we come! butterfly life cycle

After all the the effort and major change another critical moment has arrived. The catterpillar-turned-chrysalis must extend one of its two hind claspers out of the old skin and inser it into the silk button-all this while keeping secure with the clasper that remains within the old skin. When the chrysalis clasper is secure the old caterpillar clasper will be dislodged allowing the skin to fall away.
