Army National Guard Helicopters Provide Platform for West Point Jumpers

    Two members of the United States Military Academy "Black Knights" parachute team, leap from a Chinook Ch-47 belonging to the New York Army National Guard, 12,500 feet above Geneseo, N.Y., July 30. The pilots and crews from Detachment 1, B Company 3rd Battalion 126th Aviation, provided skydiving platforms for the West Point parachute teams annual training sessions. The West Point Parachute Team is made up of cadet members. The Cadets join the team during their plebe year and train with coaches from the Military Academies Department of Military Instruction. The team competes at national and college events, provides demonstrations, and jumps the game ball into Mitchie Stadium for Army football home games.
