Welcome to year of the Dragon

Welcome to year of the Dragon

It's chinese new year and the year of the dragon has started.
This dragon is painted on a wooden sliding door in the Nanzen-ji temple in Kyoto.

The panels in this temple are painted by the Kano school, one of the most famous schools of Japanese painting founded by by Kanō Masanobu (1434–1530).
Nanzen-Ji also called Zuiryusan is one of the most well known Rinzai Zen temples in Japan. Emperor Kameyama loved this beautiful place so much that in 1264 he built his detached palace here. Later he became a student of the Zen Master Busshin Daimin Kokushi and he dedicated the palace as a Zen temple in 1291.

Dangerous ride

Dangerous ride

In most cases taxi-drivers are experienced drivers who kow what they can do. Sometimes you find yourself in a taxi and think : how did this guy get his drivers-license ? where can I get off ? This photo was made in the taxi of such a driver.
I was happy to arrive safely at my destination.
