This Weary Body

    Newer Older

Of all the horses I have came across, this one is by far the oldest, and in many respect the most jaded. It carries itself as if it had been through a life of toil and hardship – one that I can only imagine. Because of its unattractive looks, children do not come close to it, nor does it care to be touched.

I love the tones in this image. I've been following your work for some time. Could you give some guidance as to how I might learn to grade my images appropriately? Books, concepts, etc. I'm new to the digital post side of photography.

Gorgeous, these are your greatest shots... You use rim lighting and the last bit of sunshine like no one else.

Thanks for the kind words Paul. I started out using Adobe Photoshop (that was about a year ago) but these days, I use Adobe Lightroom for all of my processing. It is much easier to use and provide a more efficient workflow than Photoshop. As for processing itself, it is something I'd picked up on my own – through internet research and observations of the work of others – and would be more than happy to share with you and everyone. Although the process itself is lengthy to explain in comments here. I'll try to break that down in future posts, and/or put together a pdf documentation, as well as a Website in the near future, to help everyone. To help you get started, feel free to email me with any specific question you may have and I'll try to answer them in a timely manner. Regards.
