What do you mean by "Fake"?

I think he means not a real Lego piece. If so, I have to disagree. Brickarms and Brick Forge parts are quickly being adopted by most everybody.

Who the hell cares it's win on a plate and everyone knows it. :D

i agree on what he saying about 'fave', its like using megablock pieces with legos, its just not right... thats why I make guns, not buy brickarms, but no offense to them, they're make good money off that, and it is a wonderful idea, but i dont use them.

Mike Rutherford has forever changed my opinion on purism... as in now I'm a purist. Don't get me wrong, I think the weapons look great, But I probably wont use them.

MY personal feeling is that brickarms are legit; They are higher quality than megabloks, and modeled after Lego in order to have a similar feel in aesthetics. Mostly, they just fill a gap that brick built guns can't, and I am okay with using them for that reason.

k, lol, you have a point there dunechaser, i agree with you know, lol, and carter, your right too. We should all thank brickarms though, they are sick little guns that are compatible with Legos, i see where you guys are coming from

Also, Brickarms at least is equal to LEGO in quality, whereas MEGAblocks are observably inferior.

Also, BrickArms are designed to complement Lego, whereas MegaBloks are low-grade copies designed to compete with Lego.

With a few rare exceptions, people use Mega Bloks in place of LEGO, whereas BrickArms and BrickForge are designed to be used with LEGO. In other words, BrickArms and BrickForge extend what you can do with "official" LEGO.

To be sure, I separate my own "LEGO-only" projects from my "LEGO+X" projects (and tag the latter accordingly), because I still think it's fun to see what you can do just with official elements. I think it's also true that there are too many builders who can't seem to do anything without custom elements.

But saying that using elements from these other vendors is like using Mega Bloks is absolutely not true.

Whether you might want to link those two sentences with a "but" or a "despite of the fact that" is up to you.

I don't use them myself partly due to cost, and partly because they are mostly modelled on real life guns, and my MOCs aren't modelled on real life vehicles. If I wanted to model an actual Bradley AFV I'd get some Brickarms M-4s for the troops.

They're very nice for what they are and they fill a specific niche that LEGO never really will. LEGO purists will, of course, stay away.

I doubt it, mainly because he never said STAR WARS or any SW related names. I think Will will be fine as long as he uses broad terms like 'Space Rifle' and 'Space Pistol'. None of that may be true though and I suggest going to the Brickarms forums and just asking him yourself to find out.

The guns are nice looking, but I have to conclude that I won't adopt 'em, soley because I am a purist, and shudder even at the cutting of the hollow hoses. Plus I LIKE using the binocs and hammers and minifig hands... I mean, for me, half the fun is trying to coax a tiny gun shape out of all those unlikely bulky parts.
