Eric Tipton, 1938

    Eric "The Red" Tipton was co-captain of the 1938 team along with Dan Hill. Named to the 1938 All-America team, he was widely known for his punting achievements. After college, Eric played major league baseball for four seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and one with the Philadelphia Athletics. He then served as head baseball coach and assistant football coach at Army.
