The library was funded by the Carnegie United Kingdom Trust (this allocated funds donated by Andrew Carnegie 1835 – 1919 a Scottish / American Industrialist, who funded sixty-six libraries in Ireland, and approximately 2,500 throughout the World).

    Cool - I'm a librarian in the USA. I didn't know Andrew Carnegie also funded libraries in Ireland!
