About This Photo: One of my favorite photos. This man has an amazing quiet dignity. I get asked all the time whether the bird just landed on him. Well, actually, the bird is his pet and is trained to hang out on his shoulder all the time. It has been with him practically since its birth.

Nice subject, would have been better if it didn't feel so snapshot-ish. A more stressed pose, from about the same angle, with him looking at the camera would have given you a bit more emotion.

i'm kind of with him on that one. even though it's perfectly legal here to snap candids of strangers in the street, you should probably ask. i asked his permission before taking this photo we're commenting on.

i guess there's different schools of thought on this. i appreciate HCB style street shooting as much as the next person. but i've had to delete some shots when the subject didn't want to be photographed.
