Mechanicalism - Pictoplasma, Berlin 2011

Crim Collective will soon be taking off for the celebrated contemporary character design conference Pictoplasma stationed in home town, Berlin.
The collective have teamed up with contemporary art gallery 111 to host ‘Mechanicalism’ which will form part of Pictoplasma’s 2011 Character Walk.
The Character Walk 2011 invites you to 25 GALLERIES AND PROJECT SPACES throughout Berlin-Mitte, showcasing the wealth and diversity of today’s Character design and art.

As the official kick-off event of Pictoplasma 2011, all exhibitions open on Wednesday, April 6th, starting from noon, with many of the locations celebrating their welcome receptions in the early evening, before the day concludes in a first Festival party at the .HBC.

Crim Collective’s ‘Mechanicalism’ is an opportunity to walk through an assembly line of manufactured monsters and self-assembly mythical beasts ready for export to worlds far beyond planet Earth. Explore the origins of these fabulous intergalactic creatures and find out how they are made up ready for retail. From automated androids to slimy swamp savages, Mechanicalism is a gate way into a fantastical field of do-it-yourself, flatpack, ready-to-use Character design.
