Travertine Pools of Pamukkale![]() We went to the travertine pools of Pamukkale soon after the muezzin called morning prayers in order to catch the good light at sunrise(and to avoid the hordes of tourists that showed up later). We were the only ones there aside from pack of wild dogs.
These pools are the result of centuries of calcium being deposited on a hillside. You used to be able to swim in them, but not any more. Commentshexodus...

Alien-esque landscape! The colors are beautifully muted and the edges so flowing and soft. I can imagine something un-earthly living in those ponds!
