Rebecca Joe (Left) and Lucinda Redhouse (Right) of the 'Navajo Nation Advisory Council Against Domestic Violence' lead the 'Stop Violence Against Women' walk in Window Rock, Arizona. The walk is to encourage members of the Navajo Nation Council to pass legislation that will help give battered women and family members more effective judicial tools needed to prosecute offenders in Domestic Violence cases in Navajo courts.

Unlike most other crimes, family violence is usually not a sudden, isolated, and unexpected incident.
