Day 233: Rain + Cellphone = No Cellphone

My cellphone gave out today in a torrential rainstorm. The good news is the D200 and lenses survived the ordeal rather well in the camera bag. Everything got a bit damp but seems to be in good working order.

I pulled the battery off of it and let it sit and air out for several hours before I turned it back on. After I remembered that it was in my pocket and I pulled it out I turned it off right away.

let it dry out..should work afterwards. I dropped mine in a large thing of water once..almost gave it a swirly. worked fine after drying out and a can of lysol.

I dropped mine in a fruity vodka drink about a year ago. It died immediately. I cleaned all the parts including the sim chip with rubbing alcohol and lint free cloths. I left it, disassembled, to dry for a couple of days. It worked just fine after that except it still smells slightly like coconut.

@nyctreeman - ah well I did the mass consumerist thing and got a new one since I was eligable for a free upgrade from AT&T. Since my cellphone is my only phone I could not wait a couple days for it to go back to working again :-)
