As for bugs, it's mostly luck. With a really slow lens (sigma 70-300) you just have to select AF-C (continuous focusing), and try to focus near where the bug is. And also patience. I have to shoot 50 shots to get five or six that were that clean and focused. I am looking forward to buy a decent macro lens (f/2.8) to see if the focusing is faster...
