This is AMAZING!!

A couple of buddies and I hiked to the summit of Silver Star Mountain a few weeks ago while an electrical storm was beating down on Portland Oregon.

This was one of the views we had while we were up there!

Lance (McCoy), yeah in the end they did...I have a shot of rain falling in front of mount hood but not on us....then as quick as it could happen this huge fog cloud rolled in and we were in a white out.......it blew off about ten minutes later and started pouring on us. we hightailed it back down the mountain to the car and home!!!! but it was an amazing experience to be up there and see it all happen below us!

Thanks Ruthanne, for the record we did not see one bolt of lightning.....which was crazy because Portland did!!!!! I am always careful in situations like that......I did not hold my tripod over my head while standing on the peak yelling to the lightning gods to come get me!!!!!

You know, that tripod doubles as a lightening rod----do be careful!! With my little lecture out of the way, I must say you captured that storm in the background just perfectly, and with the spring flowers and light in the forefront, it's an outstanding shot!!! But don't do it again, standing on a mountain top with a tripod within 20 miles of a lightening storm!
