Brown Bear mother and cubs (Ursus arctos) in Hallo Bay, Alaska near Homer. Photo taken in the wild. I was 40 feet from the bears with nothing between them and me except for my Nikon.
Brown bears are the largest bears and may reach 10 feet when standing. These bears were eating grass and clams. They are also very fond of salmon.
