Venus is the brightest "star" in the evening sky. Since it
is between earth and the sun it is always seen either in the evening
or morning sky near the setting or rising sun. Because of that It is
sometimes called the morning or evening star.
In this shot you can see a few other interesting objects. In the foreground there are a few fireflies visible. There is a small star cluster just below and to the right of venus. The horizon is still showing a little orange from the sunset. The grass is illuminated by moonlight. All of this shows up better if you view on a black background so I made it easy for you to do this!
