That is a racing dog, it needs to run, not lay around all day. Looks pretty depressed if you ask me, if my dog acted like that I would figure it was sick -- unless the dog in the video is super old...
Really abnormal, it should be at least exploring, chewing some toys, moving around, etc. Yet, here we have someone celebrating their racing dog's laziness. Get that dog some land, and some rabbit, get it out of that apartment. Just because they can adapt doesn't mean they are happy.

For the few of you that think Boue is being somehow mistreated because he spends his day on the couch (git that dog some rabbit)....
Boue is a perfectly happy, healthy five year old retired racing greyhound. He lives across the street from a beautiful 5 acre off-leash dog park which he visits at least twice a day.
Boue spent the first four and a half years of his life living in a box and working for a living. He competed in over 185 races in his career. As far as I'm concerned, he has earned the right to pass a good part of his retirement sacked-out on his sofa if he wants to.
Laying around all day is absolutely typical behavior for a greyhound. And as far as rabbits go...Boue would much rather go to Starbucks for a croissant.

love the video and your response, although i think it's kind of silly that you needed to explain that you take good care of your dog. (i think that's obvious).

Great video...I agree that its crazy that you should have to explain...this is what retired greyhounds DO! I know several people that have them and say the same thing...they are couch potatoes for the most part....Those *other people* can shove it. Boue is AWESOME!!

Anyone who thinks this dog is being mistreated is just a person that knows nothing about sight hounds. We have have had 5 Whippets ( Common ancestory with Greyhounds)in the past 25 years and we now have two. Their perfect day is lounging on the chair, sofa or in a bed, and of course being near their human caregivers. Ours even watch Animal Planet. Your dog is doing just what it wants to do.. take care and Thanks. Don

Very clever and entertaining video. I'm sure it brings a lot of people smiles. Big bed, climate controlled king size dog house, obviously infatuated roomie, AND the Beatles. What a life! That's a Lucky Dog.
