I grew up in the shadow of these smokestacks.
It was a major factor in my becoming an
environmentalist (in my fashion). While coal
is the major source of energy in Kentucky,
there are better ways to generate
electricity.
Funny how life just goes on beneath the
belching stacks.

Hmm, not necessarily! Progress around here
has left us (in this part of Brazil) with
only 2% of our vegetation left.. that´s why
we are reforesting out farm every year.. but
most people prefer profit over nature..
