If you don't mind me asking Matt, what brand is your most incredible folding bike and where exactly did you get it?

Any link(s) would be appreciated if you have the time. : )

My family and I would like to each get one...
Don't recall if I had ever told you, but we've been thinking about building one of these

wharram.com/index.php

and would like to have one of "those" to get around in, when we fancy it! : )

Have a beautiful day up there, enjoy your bike, & no I do not miss living in London! ha,ha Bye now...

It's a Dahon Mu P8, which does exactly what it says on the tin: "wonderfully light, fast enough for long weekend rides, and stylish enough to turn heads everywhere". I bought it at my local bike shop. EDIT December 08: credit crunched, or something, but closed now.

Wow, best of luck with the cat. Some boaty people like to get Stridas or even lighter things, like a Sinclair A-Bike, to whizz about the shore on, but these might not be so good for wilder places.

Hhhhmmm, never heard of that?

We did happen upon this recently

I think that we would need something a bit on "the rough side" (ie a mountain bike type) with multiple gears for hilly terrain.

Thanks so much for everything, much appreciated... I shall check out your links, & have a beautiful day ! : )

Bugger. My lovely bike got nicked! I tootle out of my evening class (Chinese, not as hard as they say, but very slow progress thanks) to jump on the ride to the mainline station, but where is it? There was the big empty space where I parked and locked it two hours earlier. There was the crappy lock, lying by the Gower St railings, cut like a stupid bit of string. Apart from the shock and insult, I had to take the tube home, the indignity of it, ugh. This photo is now part of a Crime Report. My chances of seeing it again, in the metal as it were, are minuscule. Sh!t.

Astray instead of astride...
The b*st*rd!

Here... Go here. Maybe this will provide you with words that well suit the irritation.

Elizabethan Curse Generator

I got the following...

Thou gleeking hell-hated puttock!
Thou purpled spur-galled canker-blossom!
Thou froward folly-fallen whipster!
Thou puny beetle-headed hempseed!
Thou jarring dread-bolted clotpole!
Thou craven full-gorged hedge-pig!
Thou bootless pottle-deep pignut!
Thou goatish onion-eyed measle!
Thou infectious eye-offending foot-licker!
Thou purpled paper-faced miscreant!

Update: In November, got a replacement. Hoorah.
A week later, the front wheel got stolen, thanks to the quick release hub. I was only gone for an hour. In broad daylight. Oh Fer Feck's Sake! Boo Hiss, curses, etc etc.

Now I've got the following: proper U lock, cable (goes through wheels), aversion to leaving it outside at all.
