Candles for Grandma
11/24/07
Dear Flickr friends,
I just got a call from my Mother to inform me that my Grandmother is very ill and is not expected to live through the night. All I could think to do right now was to light some candles and pray. I will be away in Michigan for a while.

11/25/07 UPDATE - I went to sleep last night thinking for sure that I was going to get a call any minute telling me she had passed. I woke up this morning to the news that overnight she was given some blood, and her condition has improved somewhat.
She went in to the hospital on October 3rd for pneumonia, which she has now recovered from. As a complication of the antibiotics and other medications she was given she developed intestinal bleeding and was very anemic. Apparently she is talking and eating this morning, but the doctors still expect it is only a matter of time. We are going up to Michigan Monday morning to see her.
11/26/07 My dear grandmother, Doris M Wigent, surely one of the most wonderful women in the world passed away quietly and peacefully in her sleep at 2:20 this morning. I will post funeral arrangement details in the next few days. Thank you to everyone who sent their messages of compassion and sympathy over the last 2 days, as well as those of you who said a silent prayer.
