Wow...Really nice!
This is also good as "recycle item"! Can of mint also seems ecological.

that's very, very cool DIY tech art you've made there.

thanks for the kind words. it's a mildly practical mouse. it works fine but as you can see the wheel sticks up pretty far.

novelty was the motivating factor behind behind this project... that and learning how to use a dremel.

Great job, I have been thinking about doing some mice mods like these latley, and putting those el cheapo $10 mini mice into unusual items, Altho I didn't think of the Altoids tin, I am thinking of doing an old Apple Macintosh Performa mouse up :-)

If only someone could make a mint tin with mints in it.. then I could die a happy man.

that's not a half bad idea brian. for a tin full of mints i'd pay upward of... say... two dollars!

This is great, Im actually in the process of building a wireless one right now. I love building stuff out of altoids tins. I did the ipod battery, which was great, and I also decided to build a harmonica into one of the atoid-gum tins. Thanks for the ideas!

dylanofwomen, i used the disc cutting tool but i was just careful to touch the edge, pick it up, move it, touch it, rinse repeat. if you look at the full sized image you can see the scratches where it didn't cut a perfect circle.

Great project!
I build a programmer for AVR microcontrollers in one of these Altoids tins. Wonder for how many electronics projects it was used.
