my bike wheel pov toy

Based initially on Lady Ada's MiniPOV project mine is a two sided design with separate text for each side. It uses a PIC 16F630 and two 74x259 8-bit latches and a lithium battery strapped to the hub. Later versions have better LEDs, the ones in this picture have too narrowly focused lenses.

glad y'all like it! i'd been so inspired by lady ava's project pages that i've been meaning to put up my own. i'll get on it asap!

the bike is a mystery frame. it's some kind of italian road bike that was rusting in my friend's back yard. he gave it to me and i got it painted. I told them i didn't care what color and it came back john deere green. i can spot a theme bike when it hits me over the head. the fenders are made by planet bike and the sticker is for a john deere pedal tractor.
