Photography internship
Looking for a foot in the door to kick-start your photography career?
Time Out Sydney is looking for an intern to help out in the photography department.
Covering everything from film, music, nightlife, arts, food and sport – and published in over 22 cities around the world – Time Out is an internationally respected bible for people who want to know what’s happening in their city. timeout.com/sydney
The position is unpaid, but would provide invaluable experience and published work for your CV and portfolio.
We're looking for a photographer who:
- is keen and reliable with excellent communication skills
- owns their own digital SLR and is confident using it any situation
- works quickly and creatively in unpredictable circumstances
- is available to work 1-2 days per week for 6 weeks. You need to be
free weekdays and the occasional early evening. The particular days
are flexible.
The work may involve shooting interiors, objects, the occasional portrait plus assisting the Chief Photographer and Photo Editor.

Hi Dan. I miss shooting with you guys. I'd do it again if australia wasn't so far! Even if it's unpaid, the expereience is great. Here's my testimonial ;):
Being a photographer at Time Out is nice because you leave the office and see things and meet people that are going to be in the magazine first hand. You'll build skills outside of just being a technically good photog by arranging assignments, working with people and being inventive and resourceful. There is a wide range of assignments and the day is pretty spontaneous. Plus it's a weekly, so it's really rewarding to churn out shots each week. There is a lot of behind the scenes work (and fun) that goes on and everyone is really talented and nice to work with. I wish you guys luck.
